Welcome to the Western Routes or ACT (Allegheny County Transit). Service designations will be in the range of 70-89. Also, routes with W will also be involved. While the western communities are the smallest population service coverage, there were attempts on eliminating a number of routes, and kept them when they faced outrage from the population. Routes will be consolidated, and intended to make more secondary routes than primary. Since the goal is to reduce the number of primary routes to make routes work together within Downtown is essential. I will offer all of the ACT routes, and which routes they will replace.

Unless otherwise noted, the downtown routing for the West Buses will follow the current G2: West Busway routing. Since there will be fewer primary routes, this shouldn’t cause any problems with the City of Pittsburgh who would have to approve all Downtown routing. The West buses will use W. Carson Street to Fort Pitt Bridge. From there, the routes will connect with Liberty Avenue to 6th Street. The West routes will then use Ross Street to connect with Fifth Avenue which will connect to a few stops along the way. The routes will then turn on Liberty to exit Downtown via the Fort Pitt Bridge to West Carson Street.
